We’re a cross-functional team of strategists, technologists, and product designers within Group Strategy, focused on blockchain-based products that unlock new opportunities in financial services. Leveraging the flexible x15ventures tech stack, we collaborate with teams across CBA and external partners to test, learn, and bring ideas to life. Whether we’re developing financial infrastructure or prototyping and commercialising new products, we’re laying the foundations of a tokenised Web3 economy—while continuously growing our own expertise in this fast-evolving space.

Your reporting lines

This role reports to an Executive Manager.

Your Responsibilities

• Contribute to ideation, technical design, architecture and implementation of fast-paced prototypes, robust and reusable pilots, and scalable production grade MVPs that advance the Group’s expertise and technology leadership in blockchain and digital assets

• Stay updated and share insights on emerging blockchain technologies and Web3-related trends. Partner with Strategy, Business and Product to explore new ideas, define technical possibilities, and shape early stage thinking.

• Support the creation of technical documentation, research outputs, and briefings for business stakeholders

• Contribute to the development of internal tools, frameworks, and reusable components to accelerate delivery and ensure adherence to best practices in technology

• Coach and mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture where quality, excellence and openness are championed

• Who are passionate team players and happy to take the time to perform peer design/code reviews applying software reuse principles and developing creative solutions to debt management

• Have a keen interest in blockchain technologies and are actively engaged in the Web3 ecosystem

Tech Skills and Experience

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:

• Hands on experience with Solidity and smart contract development tools for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-based blockchains such as Foundry, Hardhat, Truffle (essential)

• Banking domain experience (essential) 

• Experience with front-end technologies like HTML/CSS, React & React native, Next.js

• Experience with back-end technologies such as JavaScript/ Typescript, Node.js, .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET, PostgreSQL

• Experience with cloud technology such as AWS

• Expertise with Microservices, Restful API design pattern

• Experience with DevOps practices and CI-CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions
