Position Purposes:
The primary duty of the role is to create, maintain and implement the source code to develop mobile applications and mobile platform programs that meet the needs and requirements of STCL clients and customers.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager ICT and Chief Commercial Officer in developing the commercial rationale and business case for the development of each individual app.
- Track the business case returns for each app, ensuring that the apps continue to add value to the company
- Identify and plan for new features or develop APIs to support mobile functionality or platform compatibility.
- Suggest and implement new mobile products, applications and protocols.
- Identify and propose enhancements to existing STCL supporting systems and platforms.
- Coordinate with ICT, Commercial and Engineering teams and customers to develop and enhance all applications and scripts, and ensure efficient maintenance of all programming logic and code according to STCL standards.
- Identify and evaluate current business processes that can be enhanced through an automated system or application. Propose, develop and implement application solution.
- Communicate and understand user requirements. Capture and document user experience post-development and plan upgrades.
- Provide proof of concept for new apps and demonstrate functionality with a prototype. Provide assure on upgrades and maintenance of applications.
- Evaluate all new tools and perform tests on all new and updated modules and maintain optimal Quality Assurance in all products.
- Develop tests for all process activities and collaborate with other system technical teams to resolve all pertinent business processes and issues.
- Document all technical design and maintain various tools and applications to ensure achievement of all functional requirements and ensure all app documentation is updated regularly.
- Design all style sheets and workflow diagrams and perform unit tests on the same and provide support to all Quality Assurance activities.
- Supervise all business processes, prepare reports as per requirements and evaluate the same to ensure optimal implementation of all applications in systems.
- Provide guidance and technical support to applications’ end users.
- Collaborate with team members on assigned projects and tasks.

- Alignment and adherence with governance policies, processes and standards and with external regulatory requirements.
- Identify risk and security issues within processes and determine remediation plans.
Requirements
Competency (Skills, Knowledge & Experience):
- Excellent working knowledge of different platforms, both for smartphones and tablets. Exceptionally adept at the use of computers and mobile devices running under various operating systems including Windows, IOS, and Android.
- Familiarity with platforms. Besides Android and iOS mobile app development platforms, being familiar with API development platforms, cross-platform app development frameworks, and responsive design for mobile web apps.
- Excellent knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Java, HTML, MySQL, PHP, Objective-C and wireless networks.
- Expertise in backend computing like database management, hardware and software integration and security.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of other phases like designing, testing and marketing. Above all, a good understanding and knowledge of the business and have a customer and business-centric approach.
- Experience with technical writing including but not limited to documentation of designs, tests and user guides
- At least 3 years of extensive experience in programming and app development.
Mandatory Certification:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or relevant field.
