InterContinental The Clement Monterey is looking for a dependable, skilled, and service-oriented Maintenance Engineer II to join our team. This position plays a key role in maintaining the overall appearance, functionality, and safety of the hotel while helping deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Position Overview: The Maintenance Engineer II is responsible for the daily maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, restaurant spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel grounds. This position performs general maintenance tasks involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, painting, carpentry, and preventative maintenance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests
- Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs
- Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Repair and maintain guest room fixtures, lighting, furniture, and equipment
- Assist with painting, drywall, carpentry, and renovation projects
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of hotel facilities and grounds
- Support hotel operations with professionalism and urgency
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports
- Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout protocols
- Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to support guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance or trade experience preferred
- Hotel maintenance experience is a plus
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work indoors/outdoors as needed
