Job DescriptionAs a Senior Engine Programmer at Ubisoft Montréal, you’ll help evolve the technology behind For Honor as part of the Core Tech team.
You’ll develop and optimize core engine systems for a live game, working with the Gameplay, Online, Tools, User Interface, and Graphics teams. Your work will support game performance and stability, as well as the tools the team uses to develop the game.
What you’ll do:
- Develop and maintain core engine systems.
- Investigate and resolve complex performance, stability, and memory issues.
- Design and implement technical improvements that support production needs.
- Work across disciplines to deliver technical solutions.
- Review code and contribute to the team’s programming practices.
- Support other programmers as they use and evolve engine systems.
- Contribute to optimization, automation, and technology modernization.
- Keep up with relevant technology and improve development processes.
Education:
- Degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent training.
Relevant experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in software programming, ideally in the video game industry or any other relevant experience.
What you bring to the team:
- Apply your experience with C++ programming.
- Understand game engine architecture and low-level systems.
- Apply your experience with performance optimization, multithreading, or memory management.
- Solve technical problems using debugging skills.
- Bring experience with Anvil or Scimitar, or an interest in learning the engine.
