In this position... 

The EPD (Engine Performance Development) Technologist role is a position that manages procurement, organization, and distribution of engine parts to support dynamometer testing of multi and single cylinder engines. Technologists also commonly assist in other areas based on their experience including engine instrumentation, diagnostic troubleshooting, engine build.
EPD performs combustion development, mechanical development and durability testing on internal combustion engines. This role supports those efforts with support hardware necessary to prepare and mount the engine for testing as well as ensuring spare parts are available in a timely manner to keep engines up and running.
 

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Maintain Prep and Consumable Parts Inventory - document inventory levels and communicate with engine systems to maintain supply of prep kit and consumable items
  • Organize and Maintain Part Storage Cribs - keep storage areas clean and well organized with labels on parts/shelves
  • Coordinate Instrumentation and Modification of Test Hardware - work with engineers, machine shop, skilled trades, and instrumentation lab to have parts modified for specialized testing.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • General Vehicle and Engine Hardware Knowledge
  • Organization/Inventory Tracking Experience
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.


Even better, if you have …
Preferred

  • Associates Degree in Automotive Technology and/or ASE Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with Teamcenter and/or 3D CAD software
  • Experience with engine assembly, instrumentation, and/or engine dyno testing
  • Experience with engine health checks and diagnostics (compression test, leakdown test, UV light leak detection, etc.)

This position is a salary grade 6-8 and ranges from $74,300 - $166,200. 
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
