Inside the RoleAs the “Engine & Aftertreatment Platform Manager” you are an integral part of our global DT platform management team navigating truck technology to the global optimum. In this position, your leadership will ensure that our next generation products serve our customers' needs with a competitive advantage, securing market leadership and a cleaner, safer, and more efficient world for today and tomorrow. Embodying an entrepreneurial spirit, you will partner with global colleagues to align new program and series module team initiatives. Your involvement will stretch from customer need identification through start of production and beyond with lifecycle design updates. This constantly iterating and exciting environment will require grit as well as a proactive mindset to collaborate and succeed.

What You Drive at DTNA
- Leads cross-functional teams to ensure program criteria/scope, deliverables and milestones are met and that actions are taken to achieve targets and mitigate risks for successful program launches and series changes, providing transparency to the organization around the project
- Uses specific technical knowledge to plan, organize, and control resources, procedures, and timing for technical driven, quality driven, or cost reduction processes and projects
- Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports, conducting risk analysis and monitoring the progress of plans against milestones and budgets
- Presents status to core teams, management boards and other decision making bodies
- Provides technical and analytical guidance to the module and project teams to support realization of cost reduction and quality improvement goals
- Ensures adherence to quality standards and review of project deliverables
- Analyzes and documents requirements by liaising with a range of cross functional users in the local and global organization
- May manage the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables
- Ensures consistent application of global project development standards and tools, such as CVDS, ICM, cPLACE, visual management, etc.
- Connects DTNA’s Lifecycle Management to global Powertrain Lifecycle Management for engine & aftertreatment products in collaboration with local cross functions
- Supports DTNA’s Platform and Segment Strategists, Market Development and engineering representatives to connect customer specific insights into program and process changes
Knowledge You Should Bring
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Degree focus in Engineering, Organizational or Project Management, Business or related technical field
- Willingness and ability for moderate travel (10%) to other US States and Germany
- Language: English (business fluent)
- Ability to take initiative and use analytical thought to independently solve complex problems, remove barriers, and identify solutions with minimal guidance
- Skills to lead team or department projects or work streams within broader projects, especially interfacing with cross functions through strong relationship and team building skills
- Strong networking ability within the local cross functions and global project teams while understanding customer needs and being the voice of the customer to internal project team
- Proven record of being well organized, able to handle multiple, detailed tasks in parallel and work professionally with various levels of management
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- Knowledge of the Daimler Truck Commercial Vehicle Development System (CVDS) and DTNA Visual Management or similar systems
- Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
- Act as an advisor to management and key external stakeholders on job field related projects
- Act as a resource and guide for colleagues with less experience
- Use experience to contribute to standards in which others will operate
