Job Description

We're looking for a senior, client-facing Engagement Manager who owns the client's success from the first scoping conversation through final acceptance.

This is a services-led role that starts before the contract is signed. Once the work is underway, you are the person the client holds accountable for the outcome, and the person Mirantis holds accountable for delivering it.

Our solutions are highly customized, and the engagements you run will span cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and AI workloads for both enterprise clients and cloud service providers. You may run multiple engagements at once, or a single large multi-workstream program where complexity warrants it, holding Mirantis, client, and third-party teams to a common schedule while keeping the critical path clear and the commercial health of the engagement intact.

The environment is fast-evolving and frequently ambiguous. Bringing order to it is the job. You'll be the calm center of the engagement — the person who holds client confidence when the schedule slips, who escalates early rather than absorbing problems quietly, and who can move from a working session with engineers to a C-level update without changing gears.

What You'll Do

  • Own the client's success end to end — from pre-sales scoping and solution design through contract, pilot, delivery, and acceptance — across both Enterprise and Cloud Service Provider (CSP) engagements.

  • Serve as the client's primary point of contact and the senior Mirantis voice on the engagement, building trust and sustaining client confidence under delivery pressure.

  • Partner with sales, solution architects, and engineering during pre-sales to scope and estimate custom work, author the delivery sections of the statement of work, and coordinate the internal teams needed to win the opportunity.

  • Run multiple concurrent client engagements, or a single large multi-workstream program where complexity and time commitment warrant it.

  • Translate client business objectives into executable plans, holding Mirantis, client, and third-party teams to a common schedule and a shared set of commitments.

  • Deliver in line with Mirantis delivery procedures — maintaining RAID logs, integrated plans and schedules, and providing clear, concise status reporting — applying the level of rigor the engagement warrants, whether the work is phased or iterative, and actively managing the critical path to remove blockers before they affect committed dates.

  • Manage technical delivery in coordination with Product Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services to meet client objectives.

  • Ensure client readiness by coordinating the infrastructure, dependencies, and prerequisites the client owns, and hold third-party vendors and subcontractors to their timeline and quality commitments.

  • Own the commercial health of the engagement — scope, change, and the delivery inputs that drive its financial performance — identifying and documenting scope creep as it arises, driving the change order process, and partnering with Services Operations on measurement and reporting.

  • Identify and communicate risks early, ensuring all stakeholders have clear visibility, and drive mitigation plans across internal and client teams.

  • Report status across the full stakeholder spectrum, from project teams to Mirantis and client executive and C-level leadership.

  •  Identify opportunities through ongoing delivery to expand Mirantis’ engagement with the client, and work with Sales to develop follow-on work based on client needs, emerging requirements, and evolving business priorities.

  • Improve delivery processes and collateral, and mentor the project managers on the team.

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 10+ years in project or program management leading complex, client-facing solution implementations in a professional services, consulting, or technology vendor environment.

  • Experience delivering enterprise infrastructure or cloud platform implementations — you understand what it takes to stand up, integrate, and get acceptance on infrastructure in a client environment.

  • Experience running multi-party delivery across client teams, third-party vendors and subcontractors, and internal product and engineering organizations distributed across time zones.

  • Pre-sales experience: scoping and estimating custom work, and authoring the delivery sections of statements of work.

  • Commercial ownership of engagements — scope control, change orders, and accountability for how an engagement performs financially.

  • Technical fluency sufficient to engage credibly with engineers and architects on tradeoffs, dependencies, and risk.

  • Demonstrated ownership of client outcomes. You have been accountable when a program succeeded or failed, not only the person tracking it.

  • A pragmatic, outcome-driven mindset - you focus on delivering value, not just managing tasks

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar.

  • Familiarity with infrastructure solutions based on Kubernetes, OpenStack, and/or hybrid cloud concepts.

  • Familiarity with AI concepts — including data pipelines, LLMs, and model lifecycle — and experience delivering projects related to them.

  • Experience delivering projects for data center environments.

  • Experience managing vendor or subcontractor relationships as part of project delivery.

  • Familiarity with using AI tools and agents to streamline process execution and reporting.

What Success Looks Like

  • Engagements deliver to scope, schedule, and quality — and where constraints emerge, expectations are managed early enough that client trust holds.

  • Engagements perform to their financial plan, with scope change identified, documented, and converted into change orders rather than absorbed.

  • Plans, RAID logs, and reporting are current and trusted, and risks reach leadership before they affect committed dates.

  • Delivered results generate follow-on work, and you help shape what comes next.

Location and Travel

This is a remote role with moderate travel, typically 10–25%, for client engagements, workshops, and internal team meetings. Travel may be international. Candidates must be willing and able to travel internationally, including to the United States, and to hold or obtain the documentation required to do so. You may support clients globally, with some flexibility in working hours to accommodate client and delivery team time zones.
