Operates, calibrates, installs, programs, repairs, designs, and fabricates instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
ResponsibilitiesDesigns, develops, and documents new data acquisition systems; serves as expert in hardware and software systems; coordinates and sets up tests; troubleshoots problems. Schedules and prioritizes projects in order to produce optimal results; schedules work by interfacing with customers both internal and external as well as support groups within the company. Specifies, purchases, and maintains equipment; fabricates prototypes; designs and executes field tests. Uses a number of general tools including but not limited to digital multimeter, soldering iron, function generator, and frequency generator. Reads and interprets electrical wiring diagrams. Communicates (oral and written) technical information to a diverse customer base. Participates in the maintenance of quality procedures. Develops and conducts training programs; provides counseling, mentoring, and coaching. Serves as company representatives in various capacities to customers, suppliers, and outside agencies. Interacts effectively with employees throughout the company. Demonstrates adaptability and responsiveness to changing work needs and willingness to undertake new tasks as they become evident; initiates, develops, Leads, and participates in improvement projects. Manages own work and adjusts work priorities in order to meet the demands; participates in self and team audits and associated corrective action; plans and engages in continuous learning in order to be prepared for changing work demands. QualificationsHigh school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required. Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
