What success looks like in this role:
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in deploying software, managing updates, and ensuring compliance for end-user devices (Windows) using Microsoft Intune and related Microsoft Endpoint Management (MEM) tools. The role will involve troubleshooting infrastructure and client issues, managing device compliance, and optimizing deployment workflows to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Custom reporting, system upgrades, and exploring new features within Intune are essential parts of the position.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Experience: Minimum 3-4 years of hands-on experience with Intune (or Microsoft Endpoint Manager) for Software Distribution, Patch Management, and Device Compliance.
- Enterprise Support Processes: Lead execution of enterprise support processes, including Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Service Request Management, Asset & Configuration Management. 3-4 years' experience in engineering, building, and supporting a large, heterogeneous, multi-platform (Windows, mobile) environment.
- Software Deployment & Update Management: In-depth experience in cloud-based software deployment, managing updates, and configuring patch rollout policies using Intune and Endpoint Configuration Profiles.
- Deployment Troubleshooting & Incident Resolution: Lead the resolution of deployment failures, ensuring timely and successful software rollouts across devices. Proactively investigate deployment-related incidents and provide effective solutions.
- Infrastructure Knowledge: Experience in client-side troubleshooting of Intune-managed devices, including issues related to device enrollment, compliance policies, application deployment, and security updates.
- Intune Concepts: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Intune configuration and architecture, including:
- Device Enrollment (Azure AD Join, Autopilot)
- Compliance Policies and Configuration Profiles
- Software Deployment via Intune (Windows, iOS, Android)
- Security Updates and Patch Management via Intune
- Integration Experience: Hands-on experience in integrating Autopilot, Azure Active Directory, and Intune for end-to-end device lifecycle management. Familiarity with integrating PowerShell scripts and graph API for advanced deployments and automation.
- System & Platform Expertise: Knowledge of configuring and managing software and security patches on various platforms (Windows 10/11).
- Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automating repetitive tasks, troubleshooting, and integrating custom solutions with Intune. Experience using tools like Azure CLI or Microsoft Graph API is a plus.
- Reporting and Metrics: Create custom Intune reports for device compliance, software deployment status, patching status, and asset management. Maintain and optimize reporting for license validation, software usage, and deployment schedules.
- Service Improvement: Ability to assess and improve existing workflows and Service Improvements related to device management, patch management, and software distribution using Intune. Regularly evaluate the latest features and improvements in Microsoft Intune and Endpoint Manager.
