Energy Program Manager
Job Summary:
The Merritt Island FL office is seeking an experienced leader to expand its energy consulting services portfolio. The Energy Program Manager is responsible for overseeing a range of projects within the Energy Portfolio, including energy audits, renewable energy solutions, decarbonization initiatives, regulatory compliance, and net-zero support. The Energy Program Manager primary responsibility is to strategically grow the energy portfolio.
The Merritt Island, FL office is seeking an experienced leader to drive the expansion of its energy consulting services portfolio. The primary focus of this position is to strategically grow the energy portfolio through effective networking and business development initiatives. In addition, the Energy Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the Energy Portfolio, which includes conducting energy audits, implementing renewable energy solutions, managing decarbonization initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing net-zero support.
Business Development Responsibilities (50%):
- Tactical business development: Identifies and pursue opportunities to expand energy consulting services across various business units and clients. Provides support for technical proposals, including capture management, proposal preparation, and oral presentations. Approves project initiatives related to energy and sustainability, participates in Go/No-Go determinations, evaluates proposals to determine resource requirements and potential risks, and assumes accountability for final pricing decisions.
- Strategic business development: Identifies new business opportunities for the energy program through market research, planning, marketing, industry engagement, and client management. Develop and implement plans that align with organizational objectives, identify new opportunities, and stay updated on industry trends. Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and exceeding client expectations.
Program Management Responsibilities (50%):
- Leadership: Lead a diverse team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Resource Management: Develop long-term staff utilization and resource plans to determine required staffing level. Support staff hiring/termination decisions.
- Project Oversight: Ensure effective project execution, monitor progress, address issues, and maintain safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Financial Management: Oversee financial performance, including budgeting and forecasting, to ensure profitability of energy portfolio and progress toward strategic goals.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research and strategic planning.
- Expertise in proposal development, including capture management, proposal preparation, and delivering effective oral presentations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience in resource planning, team leadership, and program management to ensure successful project delivery.
- Experience in monitoring portfolio performance metrics, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
- Proficient in stakeholder engagement and communication to facilitate portfolio decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of relevant national policies, standards, and best practices related to sustainability, energy, and climate resilience.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ years of professional experience in decarbonization, energy resilience, renewable energy, or related sustainability initiatives
- US Government Secret Clearance (or ability obtain)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree
- Federal, State, and Local Government business development experience.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)
Location: Remote
Travel: Position requires travel to client sites at federal installations throughout the West Coast. Attendance at industry conferences across the U.S. may be required two (2) or three (3) time per year.
