Job: Energy Marshal

Location: On-site project assignment | Schedule: Full-time, typically Monday-Saturday

GBA Mission Critical is looking for an experienced Energy Marshal to support a major mission-critical construction and commissioning project. In this highly visible on-site role, you will coordinate electrical energization planning, readiness reviews, switching activities, energy-control boundaries, LOTO coordination, commissioning interfaces, and turnover documentation.

You will work closely with the Owner, General Contractor, electrical subcontractors, Commissioning Authority, equipment vendors, utility representatives, and operations personnel to help ensure electrical systems are energized safely, deliberately, and with clear project-wide communication.

• Plan and coordinate energization sequencing with construction and commissioning schedules.
• Lead or support readiness reviews before electrical systems are energized.
• Review installation records, QA/QC documentation, electrical test reports, one-lines, permits, switching plans, and turnover packages.
• Coordinate LOTO processes, isolation boundaries, and identification of cross-feed or back-feed conditions.
• Facilitate pre-energization meetings, switching briefings, and stakeholder communications.
• Support startup, functional testing, Integrated Systems Testing, temporary-to-permanent power transitions, and turnover.
• Maintain accurate system-status tracking for energized and non-energized electrical infrastructure.
• Document energization events, prerequisites, open items, risks, and post-energization status.
• Escalate critical conditions and procedural deviations promptly.

• Mission-critical electrical construction, commissioning, startup, energization, or turnover experience.
• Experience coordinating electrical contractors, commissioning teams, vendors, and operations stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams and evaluate readiness documentation and testing records.
• Practical knowledge of LOTO, energy-control processes, electrical isolation boundaries, and switching coordination.
• Strong communication, organization, judgment, and documentation skills.
• Willingness and ability to work full-time on site, typically 58 hours per week, with schedule flexibility for critical project activities.
