We are now looking for a Nordic Energy Market Analyst to join the Market Analysis team at UPM Energy in Helsinki, Finland.

I am looking for an energy market analyst with a Nordic market area focus. UPM Energy is a compact, agile, and versatile organization. What you will do
- Maintain and develop electricity market models and related processes
- Update and communicate price forecasts
- Prepare and present fundamental electricity market analyses, providing valuable input for decision-making in production and consumption optimization, hedging, and trading activities
- Depending on your experience and interest, contribute to energy commodity analysis with a focus in gas and carbon markets
Who you are
- You have a university degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or economics
- You have some years of work experience from a relevant field, for example from electricity markets, energy commodity markets, data analysis, mathematical modelling or optimisation
- Ideally, you would be familiar with the basics of data analysis and the principles in the electricity and energy commodity markets. However, motivation, the ability to learn and see the big picture are essential
- You have solid communication, cooperation and presentation skills together with a commercial mindset
- Experience in data analysis (Python, SQL), fundamental simulation software (Plexos), and visualisation platforms (PowerBI) are considered an asset
