DIRECTION DE LA STRATEGIE
La Direction de la Stratégie est chargée de définir, structurer et mettre en place la feuille de route stratégique et d’innovation du groupe afin de se démarquer de la concurrence en garantissant l’attractivité et la pérennité de l’entreprise.
- Le Département Stratégie Groupe a pour mission d'anticiper les évolutions du marché, éclairer les décisions stratégiques de l'entreprise et renforcer le positionnement de Data4 comme leader européen des infrastructures numériques durables.
- Il assure la cohérence entre la vision de long terme du Groupe, son développement commercial, ses engagements de durabilité, son influence institutionnelle et sa création de valeur pour l'ensemble de ses parties prenantes.
- À ce titre, il constitue le centre de pilotage de l'intelligence stratégique de Data4 et anime la réflexion permettant d'orienter les investissements, les priorités de développement et les transformations du Groupe.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As part of the growth of our data center activities in Europe, Data4 is recruiting an Energy Contract Manager to support its growth. You will report to the Head of Energy Sourcing & Market Intelligence within the Strategy department.
In this role you will be responsible for
- Establish long-term relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct RFI/RFP based on Data4”s requirements
- setting up and managing energy supply contracts,
- supporting the long-term hedging strategy through the signature of PPA,
- supporting the short-term strategy by scrutinizing the forward market and advising on when to take position,
- managing complementary services contracts in the countries where needed (such as balancing services, demand management services, adjustment services, capacity contracts, …) ,
- find innovative solutions to comply with 24/7 carbon free requirements from key customers
As part of your role, you may be tasked to
- monitor the energy market across Europe,
- further dig into specific subjects related to energy production or storage (BESS, CHP, SMR, Hydrogen)
Finally, you will also
- liaise with Country directors, and their Finance & Operation team to update them of the execution of the defined supply & hedging strategy
- possibly support the sales team in their discussions with customers and prospects
- possibly support Data4 Communication strategy through the creation of blogs and / or the participation to conferences
- consolidate all costs related to energy in all countries in order to invoice customers
MAIN ACTIVITIES
You will
- monitor and extrapolate Data4 consumption across countries & campuses
- keep track of our positions on the electron (short & long terms) and on Guarantees of origin
- estimate end-to-end retail price in each geography for the coming months / year
- maintain a dashboard providing all above information
- suggest positions to take
You will also
- Manage & Amend supply and balancing contracts
- Drive Requests for Quotation to challenge our suppliers and obtain the best possible propositions in the interest of the company.
- Drive Requests for Quotation to sign PPAs and maintain a high level of hedging .
You might also conduct specific long-term ad hoc projects to anticipate and address upcoming challenges
REQUIREMENTS
Education and experience
- Graduate of business or engineering school
- You have 3 years' experience in a similar role as energy sourcing manager in more than one country
- You have at least signed one PPA and have experience in contractual negotiations of long form contracts, working closely with Consulting companies and lawyer firms.
- Languages: minimum level of French and professional English. A third language - German, Spanish, Italian - would be a plus.
Technical skills
- Excellent use of the Microsoft Excel suite
- Fundamental & Technical Analysis skills to evaluate the electricity market

Skills Required
- Graduate of business or engineering school
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an energy sourcing manager across more than one country
- Has signed at least one Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and experience negotiating long-form contracts with consultants and law firms
- Minimum level of French
- Professional level of English
- Third language (German, Spanish, or Italian)
- Excellent use of the Microsoft Excel suite
- Fundamental and technical analysis skills to evaluate the electricity market
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data production
