Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a  Energetics Manufacturing Engineer  – Level 2 or Level 3 to join our team in Promontory, UT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

   

The Energetics Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for focusing on developing, establishing and maintaining Mission Assurance policies and procedures, processes and controls thereby ensuring both performance and quality of manufactured products conform to established company, international (AS9100), and governmental requirements, as well as lasting customer satisfaction. This role will support the Test and Research Value Stream or Nozzle Value Stream.

This position will work a 4/10 schedule, with every Friday off.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements and specifications of the product as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls, statistics, SPC, and quality inspections.
  • Identify opportunities and develop/execute plans to take promoting/capitalizing actions.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies/procedures
  • Assure compliance and will serve as liaison between Promontory Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) and various other organizations including some government agencies. 
  • Work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, statistical process control analyses, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing.

This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.   
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in team environments.
  • Proven technical aptitude and ability to problem solve complex technical issues.
  • Proven ability to multi-task (i.e. manage several projects at one time).
  • Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal).

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience.   
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in team environments.
  • Proven technical aptitude and ability to problem solve complex technical issues.
  • Proven ability to multi-task (i.e. manage several projects at one time).
  • Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal).

  • Experience with Test and Research Value Stream or Nozzle Value Stream
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Engineering fundamentals and skills that lead to safe and high-quality manufacturing of complex and technically demanding products.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to apply lean thinking principles and tools in order to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
