Essential Role Responsibilities- Transports patients to specified destinations, using required equipment, obtain ‘ticket to ride’ notifying department staff of all patient arrivals and departures, within the service standards established, and returning equipment to assigned storage area upon completion of each run.
- Records all appropriate patient transportation data completely and accurately in departmental logs and on nursing and testing units.
- Records arrival and delivery information of all Radiology patients in EPIC, as required.
- Performs oxygen rounds as directed by Supervisor using pre-established levels for oxygen tanks, replacing all empty tanks (1/4 full or less), and reporting any damage to tanks to Cardiopulmonary services.
- Transports all specimens, medications, etc., as assigned in a safe and timely manner, recording all delivery information in departmental logs, and wearing personal protective equipment, as needed.
- Report, tag and remove all defective equipment in need of repair or cleaning, notifying Supervisor of location and problem, and delivering such equipment to Plant Operations as directed by Supervisor. All equipment to be cleaned must be wiped down with appropriate cleaner within two hours of return to department.
- Wheelchairs and stretchers will be replaced to specified locations after use, and inventory rounds will be conducted twice per day as assigned.
- Perform dispatch functions as required by Supervisor, using the pre-established departmental priority list, and recording all incoming calls with the time call received, name of patient, time of pick-up, mode of transport, location of call and destination of call.

EducationAttending or graduate of high school (or equivalent)

Basic Life Support certification required within 90 days of hire
