The Digital Modernization Sector has an opening for an Endevor Administrator to work in Woodlawn, MD.
Leidos is seeking an Endevor Administrator to be part of the mission solution and help lead digital modernization strategy. Join one of our high performing teams responsible for over 850 CICS regions on IBM Z Series mainframe, accessing databases such as Db2 and IDMS, and middleware such as IBM MQ and over 70,000 users and more than 250 million transactions per day. We serve the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills: CA Endevor SCM Administration, Advanced Endevor Processor Development, Application development (Cobol, REXX, SAS, Assembler, Python, or Java), and Version Control/SDLC.
This position will require onsite work in Woodlawn, MD five days a week.
Day to Day Responsibilities:

Administer, support, and upgrade CA Endevor environments across multiple LPARs.

Administering Endevor application to support the version control of applications in the development and validation environments.

Create, maintain, and delete subsystems, troubleshoot user issues with the Endevor product.

Design, create, and modify advanced Endevor processors, including custom exits and complex processor logic.

Analyze new versions for upgrade compatibility.
-
Maintain types and libraries.
-
Collaborate with development teams to manage source code and ensure accurate deployments.
-
Monitor and ensure the integrity, security, and traceability of all software changes.
-
Develop and maintain Endevor configuration documentation and process standards.
-
Provide user training and support for Endevor-related tools and functions.
-
Participate in audits and enforce change management and release control standards.
-
Utilize z/OS utilities and collaborate with application projects and other administrators.
-
Participate in on-call rotations for incident response and system troubleshooting.

Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written or oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience

Required Qualifications:
These skills will help you succeed in this position:

Basic experience with the IBM z/OS utilities: ISPF, SDSF, JCL, VSAM.

Hands-on experience administrating Endevor including creating new systems, subsystems, types, Elibs, DDIO libraries, and Endevor related Top Secret profiles.

Hands-on experience with application development and supporting applications written in several programming languages (one or more of the following: Cobol, REXX, SAS, Assembler, Python, or Java).

Experience creating and modifying Endevor advanced processors.
-
Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting with developers/users.
-
Deep understanding of mainframe software versioning, promotion, and source code management.
-
Experience supporting SDLC processes in a mainframe environment.
-
Familiarity with version control principles, audit trails, and change management workflows.
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work effectively with customers, team members and management.

Strong ability to work with external vendors and internal stakeholders.

Exceptional documentation skills, with a focus on detail, clarity, and accuracy.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Self-motivated, independent, and a proactive problem solver.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering OR a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree with less than 2 years of relevant experience. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered or accepted in lieu of degree.

3+ years of combined experience administrating Endevor and triaging developer issues .

2+ years of combined experience with application development (Cobol, REXX, SAS, Assembler, Python, and/or Java).

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance. Contract requirement.
Desired Qualifications:
Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:

Working knowledge of CA InterTest for CICS, Compuware Abend-AID for CICS, map generator (CICS/MAPRII 5.3), MacKinney Batch to CICS, and XPEDITER.

Hands on experience with CICS Transaction Gateway.

Exposure to DevOps tools and practices in hybrid or mainframe-integrated pipelines.

Experience using Multiple Virtual System (MVS) components and z/OS Unix System Services (USS) file system.
