Summary
Purpose:
As the End User Computing Manager within the Enterprise Technology department under CSO, your role is crucial in ensuring the effective delivery and support of end user computing devices and services, which directly impacts the productivity and experience of AQA's employees. By overseeing the strategic direction and operational management of end user computing, you will contribute to the overall mission of providing a seamless technological experience for internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
You will have a direct impact on the end user experience, efficiency, and security of our EUC services, ensuring value for money and stakeholder satisfaction. Responsibility for creating a culture and service that is evergreen and continually reviewing opportunities to improve the EUC service offering.
Provide inspirational leadership to the EUC team creating vision, setting and communicating direction and bringing clarity to ensure they are equipped to deliver and develop.Landscape:
Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Services, who in turn reports into the Director of Enterprise Technology within Corporate Services. As a key leader within the Enterprise Technology department, the End User Computing Manager will be responsible for managing a team of specialists and individual contributors dedicated to end user computing. The role involves substantial stakeholder interaction, collaborating closely with other technology, security, and infrastructure teams, as well as external vendor relationships. The End User Computing Manager will also have budget accountability for the end user computing estate.
The role will lead the maturity of an enterprise scale EUC service focussed on both the management of EUC hardware and software, with responsibility for over 2000 devices, increasing to almost 3000 during the summer months and supporting a hybrid workforce that is geographically spread across five office locations.
As a security focussed organisation, you will provide services that enable ongoing alignment and certification to ISO/IEC27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Enterprise Technology consists of the following functions:
• Service Delivery

• Enterprise Applications
• Enterprise Architecture
• Security, Risk & Data Protection.
Activities:
Provide direction and lead the delivery of end user computing services, maintaining a roadmap plan.
Lead and develop the team, positively impacting the creation of a high performing culture of continuous improvement and service delivery across the team, role modelling behaviours and actions to support a customer focussed and collaborative culture
Create the operating environment for success, role model the right behaviours and create a professional customer focussed and collaborative culture for your own team and contribute to this for the EUC team
Support career progression by creating tailored personal development plans for individuals
Role model leadership behaviours and contribute leadership activities outside of own function
Champion security, colleague experience, supportability, and value for money EUC services
Establish a strong service focused culture, with a focus on service led KPIs and SLA’s
Champion the leveraging of technology to improve collaboration and productivity of AQA colleagues
Manage the team to ensure resources are planned to deliver both BAU and projects priorities
Establish and manage supplier relationships, holding them to account for the delivery of services. Accountable for tie 1 and 2 contracts
Implement and embed effective operational management and monitoring governance, processes and procedures to ensure the timely identification, documentation and resolution of issues. Ensuring service are being delivered to the required expectations
Accountable for the solution design and service implementation / operation are effectively satisfied and that activity is delivered in line within any agreed cost, quality and time criteria. Providing appropriate project assurance
Effectively manage the lifecycle for hardware and software technologies, ensuring that we remain current and provide a structured forward plan that enables an evergreen approach to EUC services
Manage budget in accordance with AQA’s financial management and budgetary procedures and deliver appropriate resources effectively ensuring that all relevant financial KPI’s and SLAs are met
Forecasts future years budget and resource plans, identifying significant variances
Build strong stakeholder relationships within Enterprise and Assessment Technology and across AQA to align EUC services to the needs of the organisation
Develop and report on measures that demonstrate a high performing EUC service and team
To be successful in this role, you will need to know:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proven success managing high performing teams
Technical understanding and competence in the management and development of an end user computing environment including device management, specifically Microsoft modern desktop technologies and iOS device management, virtual desktop and printing
Good knowledge of and the ability to apply ITIL, ISO/IEC27001, Cyber Essentials Plus and COBIT standards and frameworks into the delivery of the EUC service
Change oriented, people leader who can quickly bring about timely and cost-effective delivery and process improvement
Be results focused: make pragmatic decisions and deliver at pace
Excellent customer service
