Schedule: 9:00 AM–9:00 PM, with availability required within these hours

Position Summary

Innovative Care Solutions is seeking a Mobile Care Unit Specialist (EMT) to provide safe, compassionate, non-emergency medical transportation and basic patient care for individuals receiving hospice services.

This position works within the EMT scope of practice and focuses on patient safety, comfort, dignity, and reliable transportation. The role involves working directly with patients, families, caregivers, and members of the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, respectful, comfort-focused care within the EMT scope of practice.

  • Provide non-emergency medical transportation for hospice patients.

  • Administer appropriate first aid and basic medical interventions within EMT scope of practice.

  • Apply splints, administer oxygen, and treat minor wounds or abrasions as appropriate.

  • Monitor and respond to patient needs during transportation.

  • Provide reassurance and compassionate support to patients and caregivers.

  • Safely operate and maintain a medical transportation vehicle in accordance with applicable laws and safety requirements.

  • Keep the vehicle clean, safe, stocked, and properly equipped.

  • Complete required logs, reports, and patient care documentation accurately.

  • Document patient services using computer-based systems.

  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.

  • Assist with departmental duties as needed to support patient care and operations.

  • Precept new staff members when assigned.

  • Maintain professional working relationships with patients, caregivers, coworkers, and other members of the care team.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Current, valid Ohio Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

  • Minimum state-required automobile insurance coverage.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete electronic documentation.

  • Ability to safely operate a medical transportation vehicle.

  • Ability to drive during daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions.

  • Availability to work within the 9:00 AM–9:00 PM schedule.

Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of EMT experience.

  • EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course) training.

  • HazMat training.

  • Experience providing patient-centered care or working with medically complex or vulnerable populations.

Work Environment

This position involves regular interaction with patients who may have complex medical needs. The successful candidate should demonstrate professionalism, reliability, sound judgment, effective communication, and a patient-centered approach while working within established EMT protocols and organizational policies.
