Schedule: Per Diem PRN
Compensation: $19.50/HR
Maintains room and work area organization and cleanliness, and ensures proper stocking levels per standard principles. Exemplifies AdventHealth’s core values of Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me, and Own It through behavior. Other duties as assigned. Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Performs hourly rounding on patients to keep them informed, ensures they have call bells, pillows, blankets as needed, and that caregiver names are on the boards. Initiates oxygen therapy as directed by registered nurse or physician. Transports unmonitored patients to inpatient departments and stables monitored patients to PCU/med-tele, or accompany registered nurse to transport patients to specialty units. Assist physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams, including setup and cleanup for sutures, pelvic exams, lumbar punctures, and application of orthopedic splints and casting. Applies slings, sling-n-swathe, finger splints, and dressings. Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of personal protective equipment, performs hand washing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations. Utilizes age-specific competencies in the care of all patient populations. Champions customer service by keeping patients informed, providing updates, apologizing for waits, demonstrating caring and compassion, advocating for pain management, and ensuring patients can get help at any time. Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty. Initiates cardiac monitoring, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the assigned nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities. Performs venipuncture for testing and insert peripheral IVs, hangs IV fluid without medication, and maintains prescribed IV flow rates.
