The ER Technician I functions under the direct supervision of the Staff Nurse, Department Director, Clinical Manager of Emergency Department, and physician(s). He/she assists with patient care by performing clinical & supportive functions that he/she has documented competency to perform. The ER Technician adheres to policy, procedures & established standards of practice. 

Responsibilities
  • The ER Technician assists in providing continuum of patient care under the direction of nurses, clinical manager, director, and physicians.
Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Vocational School/Specialized Training

EXPERIENCE:

  • None required.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:

  • State of Florida EMT or CNA; 
  • BLS issued under AHA; 
  • CPI within three (3) months of hire into position.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successfully completes EKG competency within three (3) months of hire into position

Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians and serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years. As both a community hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center, Delray Medical Center offers several specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular facilities, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care and weight-loss surgery. Pinecrest Rehabilitation and Outpatient Hospital at Delray Medical Center is the only state designated brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation program in the county by the State of Florida.
