Role Summary:
We are setting up an in-house EMS
(Electronics Manufacturing Services) capability and are looking for a leader
who can both run manufacturing operations and drive external business to fully
utilize production capacity. This is a 0→1 role requiring a mix of production
expertise, vendor management, and customer acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
1. EMS Setup & Production Management
- Set up and scale EMS operations (PCB
assembly, box build, testing)
- Drive production planning, line
balancing, and capacity utilization
- Ensure smooth execution of SMT/THT
assembly and final product integration
- Own yield improvement, rework reduction,
and process stabilization
2. Business Development (Critical
Requirement)
- Identify and onboard external clients for
EMS services
- Build relationships with startups, OEMs,
and hardware companies
- Generate RFQs, convert leads, and manage
client communication
- Ensure optimal utilization of
manufacturing capacity
3. Vendor & Supply Chain Management
- Manage PCB vendors, component suppliers,
and contract manufacturers
- Drive cost optimization and sourcing
strategies
- Resolve quality issues with vendors
4. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure incoming QC, in-process QC, and
final QC systems
- Work with QA team for ISO 13485 / ISO
9001 compliance
- Implement traceability and documentation
5. Process & Engineering Interface
- Work with R&D for DFM and DFT
- Improve assembly processes and reduce
bottlenecks
- Introduce fixtures, jigs, and automation
6. Team & Operations
- Build and lead production team
- Drive accountability and output metrics
- Ensure shopfloor efficiency and safety
Required Skillset:
- Strong experience in PCB assembly (SMT +
THT)
- Understanding of Gerber files, BOM, PCB
fabrication, assembly processes
- Hands-on experience with debugging
manufacturing defects
- Prior experience in EMS / contract
manufacturing sales or partnerships
- Strong network in hardware startups /
OEMs / electronics companies
- Ability to bring in paying EMS customers
- Experience in RFQs, costing, and
quotations
- Strong negotiation and client management
skills
- Strong ownership mindset
Preferred Background:
- Experience in EMS companies or
electronics manufacturing startups
- Exposure to medical devices is a plus
