This HVAC/EMS position works with minimal supervision in performing Journeyman Level work in the Operation, Maintenance & Repair of Large Modern HVAC, Refrigeration, Heating Systems, Equipment, and Energy Management Systems (EMS). Requires some Minor Installation/Construction as assigned to keep buildings and property functional and safe. The HVAC/EMS Mechanic is responsible for responding to and resolving all Energy Management and HVAC issues and concerns.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn to perform proper installation practices.
- Understanding of the different types of network communication. (Like Modbus, Echelon, 485)
- Understanding best wiring and grounding practices.
- Understanding EMS components
- Perform diagnostics to detect malfunctions and defects in equipment.
- Troubleshoot to ensure the system is functioning properly following repairs.
- Effectively communicate and update all information regarding assignments to the team.
- Completion of all paperwork properly.

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education:
- High school diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills (read/writing/speak)
- Strong mechanical aptitude, an asset
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Experience in installing controls.
- Ability to complete work in a timely manner.
- Understanding of all EMS components
- Brazing experience is an asset
- EPA certification
- Travel Required
