Job Summary: Liaison with physicians, nursing, hospital management and primary care management, and specify clinic staff to champion efficient and effective use of information technology for MIPS/Meaningful Use in our Electronic Medical Record software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project development and implementation to guide the installation and maintenance of electronic medical records software.
- Implement information systems and associated data collection methods (e.g. formatting forms) for MIPS/Meaningful Use.
- Coordinate with the ITS department for interfaces required for MIPS/Meaningful Use.
- Being able to work with clinic managers on a daily basis to review MIPS/Meaningful Use requirements, EMR practices, etc.
- Integrate clinic data with other providers using certified electronic exchange technology.
- Integrate business office and clinical department electronic information management systems to capture coding data for billing and healthcare information management.
- Work with EMR vendor to implement utilization review initiatives and quality assurance programs.
- Work with contractors and vendors to install EMR software updates and add-ons and oversee the implementation of project development schedules.
- Work with physicians and clinical staff to train, solve problems and implement new initiatives to improve workflow of patient care records and billing.
- Create new and edit existing forms in conjuncture with all clinical areas.
- Able to work in a fast-passed environment and willing to learn new skills required to get tasks accomplished.
- Working with the hospital clinical specialist to help coordinate policies and best practices.
- Compile all required documentation in order to attest for MIPS/Meaningful Use on each of the Core Objectives annually.
- Supporting documentation should meet all CMS standards and be accessible in both an electronic and paper format.
- Educate staff and physicians on necessary utilization of the EMR in order to meet CMS MIPS/Meaningful Use compliance.
- Stay current on Center for Medicare and Medicaid services rules and regulations to meet eligibility and MIPS/Meaningful Use.
- Create and monitor security settings within the Electronic Health System.
- Provide Patient Portal support for patients.
- Other duties as assigned by the IT Manager.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Other Requirements:
- Associate degree (preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in a clinical informatics position or similar role (preferred)
- 2+ years of clinical background such as C.N.A. or MA (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to learn multiple EMR Systems
Skills Required
- Associate degree
- 2+ years of experience in a clinical informatics position or similar role
- 2+ years of clinical background, such as CNA or medical assistant experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn multiple electronic medical record systems
