Under the direct supervision of the PE2 Project Director, the Employment Specialist works directly with adults and Transition Age Youth (TAY) clients to support long-term recovery through vocational and employment readiness assessments, job skills training, job search assistance, interview preparation, and ongoing support to maintain employment. When employment is not attainable, the Employment Specialist assists clients with identifying and applying for available benefits to support stability and continued recovery.

Qualifications

Must meet one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, and one year of experience in providing rehabilitation services, employment-related supports, and/or peer support services.
  • Associate’s degree plus two (2) years behavioral health work experience which includes one year of experience in providing rehabilitation services, employment-related supports, and/or peer support services.
  • High School Diploma or GED plus Peer Support Specialist certification plus three (3) years of behavioral health work experience which includes one year of experience in providing rehabilitation services, employment-related supports, and/or peer support services.
  • High School Diploma or GED plus Medical Assistant certification plus three (3) years of behavioral health work experience which includes one year of experience in providing rehabilitation services, employment-related supports, and/or peer support services.
  • High School Diploma or GED plus four (4) years of behavioral health work experience which includes one year of experience in providing rehabilitation services, employment-related supports, and/or peer support services.

Qualified Applicants:

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain AZ Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance

Additional Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age (automobile insurance requirement) and possess a valid AZ driver’s license with a “clean” or “acceptable” driving record. An unacceptable driving record includes (but is not limited to) the following:

  • more than two [2] moving violations in the last three [3] years or;
  • more than one [1] at-fault accident within the last three [3] years or;
  • any major violation (i.e. DUI, Careless/Reckless Driving, Drag Racing, Hit and Run) within the last three [3] years.

Other driving related violations may be considered unacceptable. At time of job offer, submission of 36 month (three year) driving record from DMV will be required. These standards must be maintained throughout employment and up-to-date driving records are reviewed regularly for current employees.
