Job Description

Based in our North Ryde Support Office, we are seeking an experienced, Employee Relations Advisor to join our People Hub team

The Opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager of Employee Relations, responsible for providing expert employment relations advice, guidance and support to leaders and team members across Greencross, including Retail, Veterinary, Support Office and Supply Chain operations. Operating within the Employment Relations People hub, the role manages employment relations cases, workplace investigations, grievances, misconduct matters, policy interpretation and workplace compliance matters. 

This role is ideal for an experienced Employment Relations Advisor who can balance legal rigour with practical, values-aligned and commercially pragmatic advice.

What you will do

Employment Relations Advisory Services:

  • Provide high-quality employment relations advice and support to leaders across all business divisions. 
  • Act as a primary contact for employment relations enquiries received through the Employment Relations Advisory Centre. 
  • Provide guidance on performance management, misconduct, grievances, bullying and harassment, award interpretation and termination of employment. 

Case Management & Workplace Investigations 

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of employment relations matters from enquiry through to resolution. 
  • Conduct workplace investigations and prepare investigation reports and recommendations. 
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation. 

Compliance, Education & Capability Building 

  • Support compliance activities and employment relations training programs. 
  • Create and maintain leader resources, templates and guidance material. 
  • Keep current with legislative developments and employment relations trends. 

Industrial Relations Support 

  • Support Fair Work Commission matters, research and industrial relations projects. 

Risk, Compliance & Employment Law 

  • Ensure advice aligns with the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards, Awards and organisational policies. 

About You

You are an experienced. values led, Employee Relations Advisor who combines high achievement focus with empathy, fairness, courage and respect. You are a trusted advisor and challenger that builds credibility quickly, asks the difficult questions and provides clear, pragmatic counsel.  

You have an enterprise mindset looks beyond a single portfolio and works for the best outcome for Greencross as a whole and you use data and digital fluency uses emerging technology responsibly to improve decisions.

Qualifications

You will have

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, Organisational Psychology or a related discipline;
  • 5+ years of progressive Employee Relations Advisor experience, including experiencing supporting teams from a retail, clinical or FMCG multi-site environment.  
  • Proven ability to influence outcomes in a matrixed model and deliver through specialist teams in a unified and collaborative way of working.
  • Experience working in a large, complex, multi-site or operational organisation; retail, healthcare, consumer or similarly dispersed environments are highly regarded.                          
  • High-quality written communication and executive presentation skills.

Skills Required
