What you'll do
In this key role, you’ll be regarded as a trusted adviser in all aspects of employment law as you provide legal advice to a range of stakeholders across the bank. You’ll manage employment litigation through the life cycle from ACAS conciliation to Employment Tribunal hearings.
We’ll look to you to support the wider Employment Law Practice (ELP) team activities including the Employment Law inbox, global employment law support and projects, and complex employment law case queries. You'll be responsible for looking for opportunities to develop our digital and AI offering, as well as learnings and improvements that can be made across the bank to limit and manage employment law risk and to help support our colleagues.
Additionally, you’ll be:
- Horizon scanning for any legislation, case law, or other developments which may impact the bank
- Providing high quality advice on complex individual cases
- Supporting wider team members on global issues including coordinating advice in relation to Western Europe
- Assisting with Employment Law Practice training to HR stakeholders
- Helping to project manage ELP delivery in wider HR deliverables and projects
- Drafting and amending contracts of employment, employment policies and settlement agreements, and other employment law related documentation and toolkits
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for a UK qualified employment lawyer who can handle a range of conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. With a strong focus on delivery and customer service and excellent communication skills, you’ll also be able to work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
You'll be able to identify risk and ensure risks are escalated at appropriate times. This role is likely to be suitable for someone in the region of 2-5 PQE but any candidates with the appropriate skills will be considered.

- A strong commercial and pragmatic focus
- Experience of litigation and providing day to day ad-hoc advice
