Job Description

**GENERAL SUMMARY:** Under the general direction of the Manager of Employee Safety, the Employee Safety Specialist is responsible for:

  • Collecting, analyzing, and organizing safety data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Developing and implementing targeted interventions in partnership with site leadership and HR
  • Developing and overseeing comprehensive employee safety programs with performance improvement measures
  • Co-facilitating system-wide Employee Safety initiatives and ensuring local site implementation with accountability to the CEO
  • Communicating effectively with employees, leadership, physicians, and external stakeholders to support safety objectives

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental or related field required.3-5 years experience of employee or occupational/safety/clinical/quality experience. Experience in the delivering of educational programs is an asset. Is knowledgeable of MIOSHA and OSHA laws.
