- This is a fully on-site position, based out of our Arlington, VA location.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics & Scheduling: Coordinate, schedule, and send invitations for HR-led focus groups across our four key sites (NJ, VA, MA, and CA).
- Scribe & Documentation: Serve as the primary note-taker during focus group sessions, capturing qualitative employee feedback accurately while maintaining confidentiality.
- Data Compilation: Clean, organize, and compile qualitative focus group data into structured summaries to identify key regional trends and sentiments.
- Launch Assistance: Support the administration and rollout of the Annual Employee Engagement Survey.
- Communication Support: Help draft internal communications, reminders, and promotional materials to drive high participation rates across all locations.
- Quantitative Reporting: Assist in exporting and compiling survey metrics, creating basic charts, and preparing initial visual data dashboards.
- ER Case File Auditing: Assist with the digital organization and compliance auditing of Employee Relations case files and documentation.
- Resource Creation: Help draft or update standard operating procedures (SOPs), HR guides, or employee handbook sections.
- General Coordination: Manage the ER team's shared inbox, redirecting inquiries to appropriate team members as needed.
- Summer Capstone Presentation: Present a final "Focus Group Insights & Recommendations" deck at the end of the summer, offering fresh, analytical recommendations.
- Cross-Site Engagement Initiative: Task the intern with planning and executing one virtual "Summer Connection" event to bridge the connection gap between all employees across the four physical sites (NJ, VA, MA, and CA).
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in human resources, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to actively listen and capture the "voice of the employee" during focus groups.
- Organization & Detail: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules across multiple time zones (EST to PST).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with survey tools (MS Forms) is a plus.
- Confidentiality: Absolute discretion and integrity when handling sensitive employee relations data.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time as needed
Pay Range*: $28 - $34 / Hour
