The Employee Relations Partner advises leaders on performance management, workplace conflicts, conduct issues, policy violations, and complex investigations. The role partners with People and Legal teams, manages case documentation and metrics, recommends corrective actions, supports employee relations training, identifies process improvements, and stays current on employment law. Strong judgment, confidentiality, communication, conflict management, and knowledge of U.S. employment regulations are required.

The Employee Relations Partner works in close partnership with the People Partner and the Legal teams on a variety of employee relations matters, including performance management, conduct, conflict resolution, and investigations to ensure the right balance of risk mitigation, fairness, and consistency is delivered and utilizes sound judgement, grounded in ER principles and based on past precedent and ensuring fairness and consistency, while maintaining Aledade’s culture. 

Primary Duties:

  • Consults on a variety of complex employee relations issues, including (but not limited to) performance management, workplace conflicts, and other policy violations
  • Working with business leaders, makes recommendations to People Managers for employee performance concerns, including editing and administering Corrective Action Plans
  • Partnering with the ER Manager and Legal, conducts internal investigations related to a variety of employee relations allegations, such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and policy violations
  • Utilizes the employee relations case management system to ensure appropriate documentation is captured; reviews and tracks case progress for investigation and performance cases
  • Helps with identifying gaps within the ER team and provides suggestions on how to address and close opportunities; tracks relevant employee data, metrics, and trends to help identify process improvements and approaches.
  • Drives cultural adoption of the employee relations team through communication and training for People Managers and employees; assists with the development of training and facilitates training for People Managers on ER-related topics (such as performance management and leadership best practices)
  • Stays updated on related employment law changes

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years equivalent experience (such as employee relations, HR generalist, HR business partner, or labor/employment law), required
  • Bachelors degree in a related field (will consider equivalent experience in employee relations and/or HR-related certifications), preferred
  • Skilled in workplace investigations, negotiation, and conflict management
  • Deep understanding of US employment law, EEO regulations, workplace anti-discrimination and accommodations related laws, including Title VII, the ADA, the FMLA and their state law equivalents
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and efficiently
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in challenging, and/or confrontational situations
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate key points, risk, and the why behind recommendations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in project management, preferred

Skills Required

  • 7+ years of equivalent experience in employee relations, HR generalist work, HR business partnering, labor law, or employment law
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent employee relations experience and/or HR-related certifications
  • Experience with workplace investigations, negotiation, and conflict management
  • Deep understanding of U.S. employment law, EEO regulations, anti-discrimination requirements, and accommodation laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and state equivalents
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
