At Capital Group, our goal is to improve people’s lives through successful investing. We start by investing in you.
The Role

“I can succeed as an Employee Relations Manager at Capital Group.”

As the Employee Relations Manager on the Respectful Environment Advocacy Centralized Team (REACT), you will play an integral role within the broader Capital Group organization to cultivate an inclusive, respectful, and professional environment. You’ll work directly with Capital’s Senior Manager of Associate Relations (AR) to drive excellence in practice and process, leverage your expertise in analytics to advance our associate relations philosophy while mitigating business risk, and curate training and resources. You will lead and mentor a team of associates and are passionate about supporting them in maximizing their contributions and challenging them with new experiences to help them grow professionally. An impartial and objective subject matter expert, you’ll partner with HR generalists, Capital’s Legal Department, and business leaders across Capital’s various lines of business to address intricate associate relations matters and lead internal claim investigations, ensuring consistent quality of results, strong documentation, timeliness of resolution, and an effective, supportive associate experience.

You will assume overall responsibility for reporting and analyzing metrics and proposing recommendations for enhancements to our approach and prioritization of our efforts based on key insights. In collaboration with Talent Development, you’ll also help craft and manage associate relations resources for both Human Resources and business managers and work closely with the AR Senior Manager to design, facilitate, and coordinate training sessions and discussion forums. To thrive in this role, you’ve had responsibility for Employee Relations previously at a manager level and enjoy working in complex, fast-paced environments where the quality of both process and result are paramount. You’ve participated in and/or led high-performing teams and have the confidence and courage to manage through ambiguity, think strategically and situationally, and develop innovative solutions that challenge the status quo.

“I am the person Capital Group is looking for.”

  • You’re passionate about investigating and resolving associate relations issues in a thoughtful, open-minded, and objective manner, fostering a supportive associate experience and mitigating risk.
  • You’re a skilled, authentic, and respectful communicator, an active listener who is approachable, engaging and can remain tactful and calm in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
  • You champion what you believe is right and are at ease interfacing and influencing across all levels and roles throughout the organization.
  • You are proficient in working with data, and you know how to conduct trend analysis with large sets of information across unique company and team cultures. You are facile in interpreting data, identifying key points, and translating information into actionable insights and ideas for practicable solutions.
  • You thrive in environments where independent thinking and collaborative teamwork are equally essential for success.
  • You’re a people leader. You’ve either directly or indirectly managed a range of experience levels, capabilities, and working styles.
  • You’ve built a career by being a motivated and strategic achiever who brings positive energy to your interactions, uses discretion in managing through challenges, and enjoys a reputation for rock-solid integrity.
  • You have strong communication skills, both oral and written. Your documentation is concise, thorough, and organized and you have a reputation for your ability to convey messages in a clear, matter-of-fact, compelling, and respectful manner.
  • You have strong organizational skills and can flex deftly between project work, ongoing responsibilities, and in-the-moment priorities.
  • You connect the dots in complex and often ambiguous situations, deriving insights that are critical to advancing organizational goals.
