Manage and administer companywide benefits programs including disability, FMLA oversight, HSAs/FSAs, and act as backup for 401(k)/pension administration. Perform payroll feeds to vendors, reconcile benefit accounts with finance, project liabilities, ensure ERISA and federal/state compliance, issue required plan documents, process weekly carrier file feeds, investigate and resolve claims and vendor discrepancies.

  • Issues and updates assigned federally mandated summary plan descriptions and other required documentation to employees.
  • Performs weekly file feeds to carriers as assigned and acts as back up to others in department to ensure all weekly feeds are completed.
  • Reviews medical claims questioned by employees, insurance companies or other personnel. Resolves issues that may arise.
  • Contacts vendors to investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five to seven years prior related experience and/or training required.
  • Seven to ten years prior management and administrative experience to include compliance.
  • Prior experience in working with internal finance department, internal and external auditors and others in the area of plan compliance and reconciliations.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Excel and Word.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, accounting or related field preferred.

Skills Required

  • 5-7 years prior related experience
