Join APAC Regional Central Control Team to help build and mature our Emerging Risk Management capability and deliver actionable Control Insights across the region. In this role, you will identify and escalate emerging risk and control themes, partner with business, functional, and location control teams to close control gaps, and lead high-impact regional initiatives—including supporting major regulatory examinations and remediation programs.
As a Vice President within the APAC Regional Central Control Team, you will report to the APAC lead of Central Control Team, and collaborate closely with Location Control Managers, Business and Functional Control Managers across APAC, as well as global teams. The role requires strategic thinking, proactive risk management mindset, strong execution, and the ability to influence across a broad stakeholder group.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and continuously enhance an APAC emerging risk management framework, including governance, taxonomy/themes, escalation paths, and reporting rhythms
- Synthesize and communicate a comprehensive view of operational risks and emerging control themes to senior management and relevant governance forums/committees
- Enhance regional reporting and dashboards to deliver clear, insight-driven views of control performance and emerging trends
- Drive continuous improvement across enterprise risk management processes, including standardization, simplification, and control uplift
- Support Location Control Managers on material APAC regulatory examinations and key location initiatives
- Partner with cross-business or functional stakeholders to ensure timely escalation, root-cause analysis, and effective closure of control gaps aligned to business and regulatory expectations
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 8+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry (e.g., Operational Risk/Controls, Operations, Business Management, Front Office, Compliance, Audit, or Consulting)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Demonstrated experience managing and responding to regulatory requests and/or supporting regulatory examinations with key regional regulators
- Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to articulate risk themes, control issues, and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Self-starter with strong ownership mindset; able to operate independently and drive work through ambiguity
- Solid understanding of control design and execution across different processes and businesses
- Analytical and investigative mindset with strong problem-solving and process improvement/re-engineering skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong partnership, influencing, and stakeholder management skills; collaborative team player
- Experience with automation, data analytics, and/or AI-enabled solutions to improve controls, reporting, or risk identification
