About the team
Our tax team works with Stripes across the company to develop an efficient operating model as our international business scales and expands into new markets and launches new products. We are looking for a well-rounded tax professional to support our EMEA corporate tax operations.
This function will support the EMEA taxation of our international activities. You will help support and develop compliance and control processes, assist with tax controversy matters, operational governance, business support including product and market expansion and any planning efforts impacting our EMEA operations. You will work for a rapidly growing company in a fast paced environment, while collaborating with numerous functional teams across our organisation. The position will be based in Dublin and report to the EMEA Tax Lead.
What you’ll doResponsibilities
- Work with the global tax team and the wider international finance team to identify tax issues, risks and opportunities, provide tax support to the business and finance teams, and assist in implementing tax projects.
- Collaborate with various cross-functional groups within Stripe to support market and product expansion and operations in EMEA.
- Support various tax matters relating to Stripe’s international operating structure, including treasury initiatives, transfer pricing documentation, withholding tax obligations, user contracts, tax controls and reviews of activities and operations to ensure compliance with operational goals.
- Manage our EMEA tax operations, provide input, establish and implement tax priorities and monitor international tax developments and manage the associated compliance and reporting obligations for Stripe.
- Collaborate with the international accounting team and tax advisers on local corporate tax compliance across EMEA, including ensuring support and documentation is in place, as well as managing tax controversy matters with EMEA tax authorities.
- Partner with local engineering teams to support and document Stripe’s product development for R&D tax credits and grants in applicable countries.
Who you are

Minimum requirements
- 7+ years of relevant international tax experience in Big 4, law firm and/or a multinational organisation
- Professional tax qualification in tax and strong knowledge of Irish tax law and familiarity of tax issues for a multinational company
- A proven ability to research and communicate technical tax issues clearly to non-tax team members and work effectively across all functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changes in tax laws, as well as changes in our business
- Hands-on, independent, able to multitask and prioritise
Preferred qualifications
- Experience working in a high-growth, rapidly scaling environment
- Industry experience working in technology, payments, or financial services is a plus
- A willingness to work with a diverse crew of tax nerds who care deeply about Stripe’s tax issues and each other
