ESO is at the heart of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in EMEA. We translate global strategy into regional impact and support Operating Companies (OpCos) in driving execution across markets. We operate as a regional, cross-functional organization that shapes commercial and brand strategy, drives operational excellence, and ensures the EMEA voice is represented globally.

ESO brings together multiple functions, including:

• Commercial  and Brand Strategy

• Medical Affairs

• Health Economics, Market Access & Reimbursement (HEMAR)

• Customer & Digital Strategy

• New Business Development

• Patient Engagement & Advocacy

As an ESO Intern, you will work on real business topics that support strategic priorities in EMEA. You will gain exposure to regional decision-making, cross-country collaboration, and how different functions come together to deliver impact. This is not a “support-only” internship. You will contribute to projects, challenge thinking, and help simplify how we work. The internship can happen across any of the functions based on your profile.

Depending on your assignment, you will:

• Support strategic projects (e.g., market insights, launch readiness, capability building)

• Analyze data and translate insights into clear recommendations

• Contribute to cross-functional initiatives across countries and teams

• Prepare materials for senior stakeholders and leadership discussions

• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve efficiency

• Collaborate with colleagues across different functions and markets

• How regional strategy is developed and executed across complex markets

• How functions (commercial, medical, access, digital) work together

• How decisions are made in a global healthcare company

• Exposure to senior stakeholders and real business challenges

• Exposure to a regional organization with real impact across EMEA

• Meaningful work on strategic topics (not administrative tasks)

• About collaboration with experienced professionals across functions

• About a strong learning environment with coaching and feedback

• Opportunity to build a network across countries and disciplines

• Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Pharmacy, Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics or similar

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

• Ability to structure thinking and communicate clearly

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment

• Curious, proactive, and willing to challenge the status quo

• Comfortable with the use of AI

• Fluent in English C1 level

In addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
