Department OverviewThe Embedded Software Team at Motorola Solutions, Inc. delivers firmware for embedded devices including in-car video systems and body cameras. The highly skilled engineers in this team utilize their diverse backgrounds and specializations to develop Linux-based applications in support of the customer solution. The team uses modern C++ to develop highly portable code, and utilize state-of-the-art tools and systems throughout the development life cycle.
Job Description

Develop system-level test automation in python. Work with the developers in a scrum team to identify testcases and testing needs. Implement continuous integration pipelines and automation scripts to validate embedded system operation.

Responsibilities

• Development of python automation scripts for system validation

• Execute tests, review testcases defined by developers, and author and refine stories in an Agile embedded development environment.

• Execution of automated and manual release test suites

• Work with assorted vendor and open source python libraries to develop the validation framework

• Reproduce customer field issues as well as issues identified in testing

• Utilize a pool of in-car video systems to perform scale testing and analyze performance issues

• Debug system-level problems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• 5+ years of experience

• Strong understanding of Python, including open-source packages and how to use them

• Experience developing Python on Linux-based systems

• Experience with real-time system testing

• Experience writing system-level automation test cases
