EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER, FLIGHT CONTROL COMPUTER - EL SEGUNDO, CA
In this role, you are responsible for the development of the Fly-By-Wire and Display software starting with software requirements specification, software design, verification and validation of the software per ARP 4754A, DO178C, DO 331, and DO 330 requirements and facilitate all FAA/DER reviews (SOI-1 to SOI-4) You will assist in the development of certifiable flight automation technologies and cost-efficient processes for the new Urban Commercial Aviation industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop software for flight automation hardware
- Support the development of low level drivers in embedded C
- Test embedded software components to interface and control various peripherals such as motors, encoders, heaters, and sensors
- Develop software and firmware to communicate with custom and 3rd party motion controllers
- Write, review, and approve system and software requirements and design documents
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of professional working experience
- Experience building low level drivers in embedded C
- Experience in RTOS
- Self starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision to influence organization
- Experience in developing software requirements, design, test and verification documents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Proficiency with some of the following tools: C/C++, Python
- Experience with Bootloader, multi target and bare metal programming
- Experience with certification of software, systems and subsystems working with DER/FAA
- Self starter with ability to work independently with minimal supervision to influence organization
