Embedded Engr I: Years of Experience: 3-5 Years
At Honeywell, we make the future. We are looking for engineers who can work on system integration testing of industrial automation solutions including PLC, RTU, SCADA and field instrumentation.
This individual would be responsible for working with cross functional Engineering teams & Validate a range of Honeywell solutions that include Process applications, Field Instruments, Control Edge Products (HC900, Control Edge PLC, RTU), that are deployed for monitoring & control applications, PLC (SIL & Non SIL) Systems, and various other solutions that are Embedded in nature & involves firmware & Software validation.
Domain: Installation, Commissioning, Substation automation, Field instrumentation, Systems-PLC, SCADA, DCS,
Will also be responsible for accounting the deployment use cases and designing/executing the test cases that are needed for system integration & validation of the solution. Mimic the deployment setup for the solution under validation and run tests to ensure the system under test is meeting the quality standards.
Shall also be responsible for development of test automation suites for the test cases designed. Propose new test strategies for test execution and process improvement.
You will create Test plan and Estimate required for test execution. You will initiate required review meetings for Test cases, Test Plan and Test automation. You will send weekly status report on test execution, defects reported. You need to collaborate with Dev Team, Technical Support Team and Customer to provide solution to customer issues on priority basis. Will be responsible for end to end testing of the Control Edge products including PLC and RTU. You need to explore the new tools and ways of automation to improve on productivity.
You need to coach new team members, plan for knowledge sharing and guide the processes and tools used as part of the project.
Technical:
Must:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
- Hands on experience with one of the PLC or DCS system Honeywell or Schneider or ABB or Siemens or Rockwell Automation
- Knowledge of IEC 61850 (MMS, GOOSE, SCL, IED)
- Hands on experience in IEC 61850 integration, SCL files, IED configuration.
- Integration of PLC with SCADA/HMI using Modbus or OPC communication
- Hands on experience with Communication protocols HART, PROFIBUS, FF & MODBUS
- Hands on experience with field instruments like Temperature, Pressure, Flow or Level Transmitters
- Debugging skills to identify the root cause in complex system
- Hands on Experience in Verification & Validation of Industrial automation products (Function Tests, Product type tests, System Test, FAT, SAT..etc.)
Good to Have:
- Site Commissioning/maintenance experience
- Knowledge on Internet of Things
- Knowledge on cyber security
Skills Requirement:
- Core technical skill with End‑to‑End System Testing
- Integration Testing across hardware, software, and analytics layers
- Experience with different industrial communication protocols such as IEC-61850, OPC-UA, Modbus, DNP3, MQTT, Ethernet/IP etc.
- Hands-on experience with SCADA/PLC/DCS system and their components.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
