About the Role:
The Telematics organization powers the data backbone behind Motive’s products and is scaling to handle billions of events per day as we expand globally. As the first Technical Program Manager (TPM) dedicated to Telematics, you will shape our execution rhythms, drive cross-functional delivery, and help the team evolve as we grow rapidly. You will partner with engineering and product to orchestrate planning, execution, and delivery across backend services and device software.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders (product, engineering, sales etc) to enable fast decisions and alignment across programs and releases.
- Lead bi-annual planning and roadmap management with Product; turn objectives into scoped, resourced, and sequenced plans with clear dependencies and risks.
- Drive day-to-day execution across backend and device software teams; stand up milestone tracking, surface blockers early, and maintain a crisp operating cadence.
- Establish program status reporting and communications (weekly/exec updates) that are data-driven and outcome-focused.
- Proactively manage risk; identify critical path/mitigation plans and unblock teams using the right mix of process, escalation, and hands-on facilitation.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve efficiency through process refinements and/or better tooling.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of program management experience in software-centric companies.
- Proven experience coordinating programs that span backend services and device software (mobile apps or embedded firmware).
- Strong command of agile delivery; able to run and evolve sprint/quarterly rhythms and enforce high-quality execution standards.
- Hands-on with program tooling (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and creating accurate source-of-truth plans/dashboards.
- Ability to lead and coach without direct authority; excellent written and verbal communication for technical and exec audiences.
- Comfortable operating in fast-changing environments; skilled at turning data into insights and action plans.
- Technical background or technical degree required.
