You will be joining as a Embedded Software Porting & Validation Engineer in the Traction Division, based in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will work closely with global engineering teams supporting controller modernization, embedded software migration, customer project customization, type testing, and system validation activities for auxiliary power conversion systems. You will be responsible for migrating legacy customer applications to new hardware platforms while ensuring functional compatibility, product quality, regulatory compliance, and successful deployment in applications.

This role is contributing to the in Motion Business Traction Division in Bangalore ,India.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Analyze legacy embedded software architectures and perform migration to next-generation microcontroller platforms.
Port Embedded C firmware across different hardware generations while maintaining functional equivalence.
Develop, enhance, and maintain firmware for auxiliary converter control systems. Support integration of CAN, CANOpen, Ethernet, RS232, MVB, and PC104-based interfaces.
Perform hardware-software integration for power electronic converters and control units.
Use service and diagnostic tools to analyze field issues, event logs, and system performance.
Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer acceptance testing. Collaborate with vehicle control system and integration teams.
Qualifications for the role:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Control Systems, Power Electronics, or related disciplines. Minimum 5+ years of experience in Embedded Software Development on microcontroller, Software Porting, Type Testing, or Verification & Validation.
Strong programming experience in Embedded C & Solid experience in real-time embedded systems, interrupt-driven architectures, firmware debugging, and low-level software development.
Experience in software migration, controller replacement, MCU migration, and firmware porting projects.
Strong understanding of power electronics control systems, including PWM control, converters, battery chargers, and digital control loops.
Hands-on experience with communication protocols such as CAN, CANOpen, Ethernet/TCP-IP, RS232, and MVB. Knowledge of microcontrollers such as Infineon C167/ST10, XC2288, or equivalent embedded platforms will be highly preferred.
Exposure to CPLD/PLD architectures, programmable logic, and hardware timing concepts is desirable. Familiarity with railway standards such as EN50155, EN50121, EN50128, EN50126, EN50129, and EN61373 will be an advantage.
