ABOUT YOUR ROLE

The ELS engineer is a Lean/Six Sigma expert that will play an exciting and important role by using the tools of Lean/Six Sigma to identify opportunities at the site or within a functional area to improve business results. The ELS engineer will be responsible to assure business performance improvement by leading, executing and coaching ELS projects at all levels of the site organization.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Assume any responsibilities and tasks assigned by your immediate supervisor and fulfill them satisfactorily.

  • Balance of workloads (time taken, etc.)

  • Knowledge in ergonomics for workstations..

  • Application of continuous improvement methodology (Just in time, kanban, lean, etc.)

  • Knowledge of industry 4.0

  • Use of basic Autocad.

  • Statistical knowledge.

  • Responsible for manufacturing KPIs.

  • Model and reinforce 5S and Operational excellence behaviors.

  • Design the process flow to ensure an adequate flow of raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished product, always seeking to optimize the use of the physical space of the plant, as well as designing a manufacturing process that allows the product to be produced efficiently and optimizing the use of human and material resources through lean manufacturing techniques.

  • Define tools, fixtures, straightedges, poka-yokes, equipment, etc. that allows carrying out a robust process that guarantees the quality of the product.

  • Document processes, tools, customer drawings, specifications and any customer requirements through work instructions, procedures, check list, etc. as required, in accordance with plant quality system guidelines.

  • Provides support to the operational areas in solving problems and defining methods.

  • Execute cost reduction projects ( material optimization, labor reduction, etc.) and performance improvement projects (OEE)

  • Supporting a positive culture of safety to ensure the production lines meets all health and safety requirements

  • Carrying out process failure analysis and providing clear root cause investigation

  • Develop in-depth understanding of Enterprise Lean Sigma philosophy and methods and demonstrate it by successful training program development.

  •  Analyze Supply Chain and help to identify projects or process changes that will eliminate non-value added activities and create or improve processes that add value to our customers.

  •  Successfully initiate, lead and implement projects assigned.

  •  Be a change agent – challenge old ways of doing business and implement breakthrough improvements.

  •  Motivate others to accept process changes and take ownership. 

  • Train, educate, and mentor others in the organization on Lean/Sigma principles.

  • Identify project opportunities within the site or across business units, Identify and remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement processes..

  • Use the Value Stream Map to establish the baseline process and measure progress.

Requisitos

Qualifications

  • Degree completed in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics or Electrical Mechanical Engineering, RF Electronics or related field).

  • 2-3 years of job experience (flexography process is a plus).

  •  Green Belt certification; Black Belt is a plus

  • Systematic problem solving thinking with strong quantitative and analytical capability

  • Technical skills of mechanical and electric equipment.

  • Ergonomic risk evaluation knowledge

  • Basic Auto CAD knowledge

  •  Minitab proficiency

  • Personnel management

  • Minimum 3 years in equivalent role

  • Excellent communication at all levels

  • Decision making

  • High communication skills towards all levels of the organization.

  • Effective communication (oral and written in English and Spanish)

  • Teamwork as a leader or member of the team

  •  Proven leadership skills – able to influence and motivate others

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead Change.
