Who we Are
Railserve is a leading provider of in-plant rail switching, transloading, and material handling services — operating at over 75 locations in North America. We use our own locomotives and employees to safely move railcars within industrial, manufacturing and production plants. But we're not just rail car movers; we also provide a number of other services which include: rail car loading, rail car unloading, track maintenance, inspection or repair and many others.

The Role:
To perform in this job role, you should have excellent physical fitness. You should be able to operate heavy machinery such as forklift and cranes. Moreover, you should also display strong collaborative skills as well as the ability to work independently. A proven work experience in a similar job role will be beneficial.
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Setting up empty drums/totes and inspecting them to ensure they’re clean

Verifying product labels
-
Stacking full drums on pallets
-
Ensuring product packaging is good quality prior to shipping out the door

Completing batch paperwork and documentation
-
Loading pallets on trailers for shipment to external warehouse (forklift operation)

Housekeeping activities
-
Unloading trailers containing raw materials (forklift operation) and packaging materials.

Working closely with the Dow Operators to report issues related to safety, equipment reliability, and product quality.

Maintain certification on the JLG & Forklift.

Assist throughout plant with housekeeping if needed.
Requirements

High school diploma or GED
-
Proven work experience in the Logistics department as a Yard Jockey or a similar role

Familiarity operating yard vehicles, trailers, and containers

Understanding of inventory systems and databases
-
Knowledge of the health and safety guidelines

Excellent physical dexterity
-
Good time management and organizational skills

Having an eye for detail

Good communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Ability to work for long, flexible hours and on weekends

Highly motivated and hardworking individual

Strong multitasking abilities
