At Andromeda Robotics, we’re not just imagining the future of human-robot relationships; we’re building it. Abi is the first emotionally intelligent humanoid companion robot, designed to bring care, conversation, and joy to the people who need it most. Backed by investors such as Forerunner and Main Sequence and with customers already deploying Abi across elder care and healthcare, we’re scaling fast, and we’re doing it with an engineering-first culture that’s obsessed with pushing the limits of what’s possible.
Our Values- Empathy – Kindness and compassion are at the heart of everything we do.
- Play – Play sharpens focus. It keeps us curious, fast and obsessed with the craft.
- Never Settle – A relentless ambition, bias toward action, and uncomfortable levels of curiosity.
- Tenacity – Tenacious under pressure, we assume chaos and stay in motion to adapt and progress.
- Unity – Different minds. Shared mission. No passengers.
We’re looking for a mid-to-senior level Electronics Engineer to join the team and play a key role in developing advanced, real-world robotic systems. You’ll spend your time architecting new solutions, circuit design, simulation, schematic capture and PCB, bench testing, design validation and documentation. It’s a hands-on opportunity with meaningful technical ownership, ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex, multidisciplinary engineering challenges and wants to help bring high-performance, reliability-critical hardware to life in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop sub-system architectures.
- Design and simulate robust circuits.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium.
- Hands-on bench testing to validate performance.
- Documenting requirements, architecture and production test plans.
- Work closely with industrial design, mechanical engineering, firmware and software teams to deliver well-integrated hardware systems.
- Develop a real-world product with a strong attention to detail.
- Contribute to battery powered designs involving switch-mode power supplies, high-current power management, motors, LiDAR sensors, accelerometers, audio amplifiers, wired and wireless communication systems.
- Design-for-manufacture, design-for-assembly and design-for-EMC and safety compliance.
- Produce clear technical documentation that helps the team design, review, build and test effectively.
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture through thoughtful reviews, sound technical judgment, and knowledge-sharing.
RequirementsRole Requirements
- 5–10 years of relevant electrical or electronics engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency with Altium Designer, with the ability to work to a high standard in real product environments.
- Hands-on experience in circuit analysis, debugging, and product verification.
- Strong test and measurement experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and active loads.
- Good hand soldering skills. Confident with fine pitch surface mount devices.
- Solid documentation skills.
- Good understanding of embedded products, peripherals and firmware capabilities. For example, knowing what elements should be done in firmware and what should be done in hardware.
- Sound knowledge of motors, switch-mode power supplies and power management concepts.
- Experience working cross-functionally with non-electrical stakeholders, especially mechanical, industrial design, and firmware teams.
- Experience designing high-valued products where reliability and performance are critical.
- Experience with low and high speed digital communication systems and interfaces, such as CAN, Ethernet, USB, I2C, SPI.
- Knowledge of lithium batteries, charging and their limitations.
- Ability to design efficient battery powered products.
- Experience designing PCBs for manufacture, assembly and EMC compliance.
- Experience in Safety compliance.
- Mentoring experience or a demonstrated willingness to help level up others in the team.
- Experience with RF, particularly Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
- Exposure to a wide variety of products or consulting-style environments that required fast ramp-up across new concepts and designs.
Benefits
The salary for this position may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional benefits or components based on the specific role. Details will be provided if an employment offer is made.
