Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Electronics Engineer / Principal Electronics Engineer based out of Baltimore, MD.
***After an initial period of training for one year in Baltimore, and after acquiring all required security clearances, you will travel to Palmdale, CA for a two-year assignment.***
What You’ll get to Do:
Be responsible for providing technical assistance with the installation and test support of a phase array sensor system on a platform. As the system knowledge expert, you will be working on an MS team and using sophisticated supported equipment with other engineers to provide the prime contractor with knowledge and assist with system operation. Other duties include mission support, providing monitoring and operational guidance.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Conducting post-installation, shop floor system testing in coordination with other platform systems
Conducting pre-mission system test support
Collect, evaluate and report on test results
Troubleshooting system and test-set electrical, electronic and test software
Recommending corrective action for system repairs
Devising equipment design and procedural changes to improve safety and efficiency
Providing direction/oversight during the conduct of work performed by repair technicians
Supporting operational missions
Providing support at other field sites and test facilities
Supporting various customer meetings at customer locations
Periodic shift work may be required based on operational needs
This position may be filled as an Electronics Engineer or Principal Electronics Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for an Electronics Engineer:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
Experience with any one or more of the following backgrounds: airborne AESA radar/communications systems, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or System Engineering
Must be willing to work on an occasional rotating schedule, as needed; including periodic shift work and weekend work may be required to meet the needs of our customer
Must be willing to work out of Baltimore for the initial training period and upon return from the two-year assignment in Palmdale, CA
Must be willing to support additional occasional travel up to 10%, both CONUS (continental U.S.) and OCONUS (outside the continental U.S.)
US Citizen and current/active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance is required. Must have the ability to obtain/maintain SAP clearance.
