Job Summary
Customer engineering team is at the intersection between customers and internal engineering teams and this is an excellent opportunity to see the industry through the eyes of our customers and design team. You will have a chance to improve your cross-functional communication skills, learn what customers value in products and what issues they are facing and apply this knowledge to drive future product definition.
Engineer II (Middle) in Customer Engineering group will be responsible for technical support of SiTime’s customers. Activities will include direct support such as answering questions, debugging customer hardware, and infrastructure development such as custom hardware and scripting for automated data collection, help with education material development such as application notes.
Responsibilities:
- Providing technical support for SiTime customers: answer general technical questions, analyze customer applications and requirements for oscillators, review customer design for SiTime oscillators, debug customer system with SiTime products
- Modeling application response to oscillators timing characteristics (phase noise, jitter/wander analysis)
- Simulation of customer’s design for high-performance MEMS timing products (Altium Designer)
- Running automated measurements of electrical characteristics of MEMS timing products, processing the results and generating test reports
- Contributing to infrastructure projects (schematic creation/review, measurements scripts update/release, test automation efforts etc.)
- Creating demonstration platforms that showcase SiTime products
- Providing help in creation of customer collateral such as application notes, training videos
- Creation of custom performance reports
- Providing help in supervising and mentoring of lower ranked engineers (Engineer I, interns)
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience
- Good knowledge and understanding of analog and digital electronics
- Good knowledge and understanding of Digital Signal Processing principles
- Electronic schematics and PCB layout designs development (Altium Designer knowledge will be a plus)
- Knowledge of hi-speed PCB layout is a plus
- Experience in Matlab and Python development languages
- Hands on experience with measurement equipment: oscilloscopes, frequency counter, etc.
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- General and technical English is intermediate or higher
- Ability to travel.
