As a Electronic Hardware Development Engineer located in Varnamo, Sweden, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

3M Värnamo in Sweden is a key global location for the 3M PELTOR brand, developing and manufacturing professional hearing protection, head and face safety gear, and high-noise communication systems. The facility brings together global R&D, marketing, and manufacturing teams focused on electronic and passive protective communication devices, offering employees the opportunity to contribute to innovative safety solutions that help protect workers in demanding environments.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading the development of new products that help protect users hearing and enable communication

  • Performing electronic design, development, test and verification of new products

  • Work with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborate across design and integration teams

  • Help to configure and integrate tools for improved hardware and test development flow.

  • Have freedom to plan and manage your work to meet project plans, timelines and deliverables

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution in Electrical or Computer Engineering

  • Experience in the theory, design and debugging of analog and digital circuitry

  • Knowledge of schematic and layout CAD tools, circuit simulation, and design validation.

  • Experience working as a member of a project team

  • Fluent in both Swedish and English language verbal and written

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master's degree or beyond in Electrical or Computer Engineering

  • Embedded system experience

  • Experience with wireless technologies such as: Bluetooth/BLE/WiFi/NFMI/ISM band radios

  • Experience with electro-acoustic design and validation

  • Experience with intrinsic safety design techniques

Job specifics:

  • Location Information - Varnamo, Sweden

  • Travel expectations - May include up to 10% domestic/international

  • Working pattern - full time on-site working model
