The Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Technologist I conducts electroencephalography (EEG) testing and other neurodiagnostic procedures on patients, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of brain, neurological and/or sleep disorders. The Technologist conducts testing in the outpatient, inpatient hospital or operating room environment, documenting results and reporting findings to designated physicians.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Environment Safety Provides a safe procedural environment by recognizing and responding to life-threatening situations.
- Documentation and Reporting Recognizes, documents and reports critical tests results to the designated interpreting physician.
- Medical History and Symptom Documentation Documents pertinent patient medical history, including current medications and circumstances surrounding reported symptoms.
- Procedure Recording Customizes the recording procedure appropriately as per referral evaluation, patient history or observed EEG waveforms.
- Artifact Documentation Differentiates artifacts from cerebral or peripheral nerve responses and troubleshoots possible causes, documenting steps taken to alleviate such artifacts.
- Disinfection Disinfects testing room, equipment, and supplies in accordance with departmental/facility infection control policies.
- Procedures Documentation Ensures procedures are appropriately logged, charged and distributed to the interpreting physician.
- Performance Improvement Identifies and monitors opportunities for performance improvement of services.
- Contraindications Determines any contraindications to testing or monitoring protocols based on patient history or physician orders.
- Testing Conducts EEG, and other neurodiagnostic testing, appropriate to the patient's age and according to departmental policies and procedures.
- On-Call Rotation Participates in on-call rotation to provide off shift coverage, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma/GED
- Required 1 year healthcare experience
- Required within 2 years of hire Registered Electroencephalogram Technologist (R. EEG T)
- Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Preferred Certificate
- Preferred 1 year Neuro diagnostics (EEG / sleep)
