Description

Position Title: Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer

Position Location: Uxbridge, Massachusetts Headquarters

Position Type: On-site 

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 (Compensation depends on skills, knowledge, education, and experience)

Position Snapshot: The Electromechanical Manufacturing Engineer will plan, implement, and oversee strategic projects aimed at optimizing PCB and final assembly production processes, while also supporting the service department through electromechanical troubleshooting and analysis. This role involves designing and developing methods and tools to evaluate current workflows and identify inefficiencies across both production and service functions. Lean principles will be applied to enhance operational efficiency and improve overall product performance.

About you: You’re a hands-on manufacturing engineer who enjoys improving how things are built and making processes more efficient. You have experience supporting both electronic and electromechanical production, and can identify inefficiencies to improve cost, quality, and cycle time. You’re comfortable owning process performance, driving corrective actions, and supporting equipment used in both production and service environments. You have a strong grasp of Lean principles and problem-solving methods and can lead improvement initiatives using data to drive decisions. You’re also experienced supporting new product introductions, working cross-functionally, and maintaining process documentation while staying organized and following through on results.

A day in the life:  

  • Lead medium-complexity process improvement projects (cost, yield, cycle time) and deliver measurable results.
  • Support production processes for PCB, electronic, and electromechanical assemblies, including gearboxes, motors, and inverters.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment used by the Service department, ensuring alignment with manufacturing standards.
  • Support the Service department by applying electromechanical expertise to diagnose issues, improve equipment performance, and implement corrective actions.
  • Own manufacturing process capability for assigned lines and drive corrective actions.
  • Develop and validate process parameters, tooling, fixtures and test methods; support equipment qualification.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for new product introductions (NPI), pilot builds and ramp activities.
  • Create/maintain PFMEA, control plans and other process quality documentation; participate in audits as needed.
  • Coordinate cross-functional corrective actions (8D/5-Why) for recurring defects and downtime drivers.

Requirements

  

What you will need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, continuous process improvement, or engineering roles
  • Effective communication skills: both written and verbal
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma
  • Demonstrated experience leading process improvement initiatives and using data/statistical methods to drive decisions
  • Proficient in CAD design for developing fixtures, workbenches, and tools to support manufacturing
  • Ability to manage small projects, prioritize tasks and communicate status to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Proficiency with common manufacturing systems and documentation control (e.g., ERP/MES, work instructions).
  • SAP ERP experience preferred
  • Strong commitment to quality and safety
  • Experience with motor and gearbox assembly preferred
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
