Northrop Grumman's Space Systems has an opening for an Electrical Test Engineer - Level 3/4 to join our Test Engineering Organization in Gilbert, AZ. What you'll get to do:
Communication and Collaboration:
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., EGSE, Design Engineering, Manufacturing)
Actively participate in design reviews, peer evaluations, and program milestone reviews (MRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
Provide cross-program coordination and escalate key updates or issues to upper management
Test Engineering Expertise:
Collaborate with the EGSE Lead to develop Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) requirements
Generate test plans and procedures to ensure compliance with specifications
Perform or oversee testing and troubleshooting of both flight and non-flight Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs) or electronic modules
Analyze test results, trends, and drive resolution of anomalies or failures
Leadership and Mentorship:
Participate in Gilbert, AZ-based Test Engineers, to understand assigned testing priorities and providing problem-solving expertise
Mentor team members in diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Continuous Improvement Efforts & Initiatives:
Identify areas for process improvements in test and troubleshooting activities, yield, and test fidelity
Participate in safety improvement initiatives and preventative/corrective action implementations
Program & Business Support:
Support cost estimation, proposal development, and functional initiatives
Actively monitor the status and performance of avionics tests while contributing to mid-term and year-end evaluations

Basic Qualifications:
Electrical Test Engineer - Level 3: 5 years of experience with Bachelors in STEM; 3 years with Masters; 1 year with PhD
Electrical Test Engineer - Level 4: 8 years of experience with Bachelors in STEM; 6 years with Masters; 4 years with PhD
Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret Clearance
Experience in hardware design, testing, and troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuitry
Strong analytical/diagnostic skills for solving technical challenges
Ability to work various shifts, inclusive of after hours and weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret Clearance
Demonstrated success in leading small teams of engineers
Expertise in power regulation and analog signal processing
Expertise in hardware-software integration for automated test systems using tools like NI LabVIEW/TestStand
Expertise in high-speed serial interfaces (LVDS, SPACEWIRE, TCPIP, 1553)
Strong skills with tools like Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and presentations
Familiarity with troubleshooting electronic systems with lab equipment
Proven ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives in testing practices
