We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Supervisor to oversee all electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities for a combined Thermal, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Solar, Power Plant Project at Girrahween. The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical work is executed safely, efficiently, and in strict compliance with project specifications, electrical codes, and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in both Thermal Generation, Solar and BESS technologies, and a commitment to project success.

What you'll do:
Supervision & Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electricians, technicians, and subcontractors.
- Allocate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Technical Oversight:
- Oversee the installation, termination, and testing of all electrical systems, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, control panels, cabling, grounding, and lighting systems for Thermal , Solar and BESS systems.
- Ensure proper integration of the Solar and BESS electrical systems with the thermal plant off grid connection.
- Interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical guidance to the team.
Safety & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, LOTO procedures, and electrical safety standards
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant national and local electrical codes and environmental regulations.
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor the quality of electrical installations, ensuring workmanship meets project standards and specifications.
- Oversee pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, and support commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical tests, inspections, and modifications.
Planning & Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, other discipline supervisors (mechanical, civil), and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Coordinate material and equipment requirements, ensuring timely delivery to avoid delays.
- Assist in the development of work plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
Reporting:
- Provide regular progress reports to the Construction Lead, highlighting achievements, challenges, and resource needs.
- Document all non-conformances, incidents, and corrective actions.
To thrive in this role, you'll have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in electrical installation and supervision, with at least 3-5 years in power generation projects.
- Proven experience with both thermal power plant electrical systems, Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
- Experience with MV/HV electrical systems (e.g., 11kv).
- Valid Electrician's License.
- Valid driver's license.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong understanding of electrical testing equipment and procedures (e.g., insulation resistance, continuity, relay testing).
- Familiarity with control systems (DCS/PLC) and instrumentation
