Role Overview:

We are seeking a bilingual (English & Korean) Senior Project Manager (Electrical) to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least 8 years of site-based project experience in ground-up construction, with a technical background in Electrical Engineering. Experience in managing large-scale commercial and advanced technology projects (large-scale data center project) is preferred.

This role leads all electrical engineering project management activities, overseeing design coordination, electrical installation, commissioning, and integration of all electrical systems for mission-critical / AI data center facilities. As a key member of the broader project team, the Senior Project Manager (Electrical) will drive alignment across design consultants, contractors, authorities, and client stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring both strategic oversight and active involvement in day-to-day project coordination, tracking, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Drive strategic client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, facilitating critical decision‑making across all project functions, including electrical design, construction, commissioning, and operations.
  • Lead and negotiate with design consultants, general contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure project goals are met and the client's requirements are prioritized.
  • Represent the client’s interests in all negotiations, contract administration, and complex dispute resolutions.
  • Chair and facilitate high‑level design and stakeholder meetings to ensure alignment with business objectives and project strategy.
  • Oversee and validate the execution of all tenant/client requirements, ensuring seamless integration with the overall project scope.

Authority Liaison, Permit & Regulatory Strategy

  • Serve as the senior representative of the project owner when engaging with local authorities, government agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Develop and lead a strategic plan for the permit application and approval process, ensuring timely submissions and compliance.
  • Cultivate relationships with key building, zoning, and environmental authorities to secure required approvals.
  • Provide expert oversight of compliance requirements, including fire safety, environmental impact assessments, and occupational safety standards.
  • Proactively identify and address high-level permitting risks that could impact project schedules, costs, or strategic business goals.

Project Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership for the project EHS program, ensuring strict adherence to the client’s program, industry best practices, and local regulations.
  • Partner with contractors and safety officers to implement and enforce effective EHS measures on site.
  • Monitor EHS performance through regular audits, inspections, and compliance checks to maintain the highest level of EHS performance.
  • Address safety violations and ensure corrective actions are implemented immediately.
  • Address escalations for EHS violations, ensuring immediate implementation of corrective actions.
  • Champion DPR’s EHS culture by embedding protocols within the design, procurement, and construction phases.

Strategic Project Management & Execution

  • Lead the full project lifecycle while actively managing coordination, tracking progress, and resolving project issues
  • Drive effective coordination between design and construction teams, proactively resolving complex and critical issues.
  • Monitor project milestones, budgets, and quality to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Develop, implement and lead risk management strategies to proactively address project challenges.
  • Oversee procurement strategies, including long-lead material tracking and contractor/consultant bidding.

Cost & Contract Management

  • Provide strategic oversight on budget development, cost tracking, and financial forecasting.
  • Lead contract negotiations and administration for consultants and contractors.
  • Review and approve progress payments, change orders, and contractor claims to ensure proper cost control.
  • Lead commercial management efforts, including tender processes, bid evaluations, and cost validation.

Construction Leadership & Quality Assurance

  • Act as a senior liaison with the general contractor and subcontractors to ensure construction progress, resolve technical issues, and address potential risks.
  • Enforce and audit strict QA/QC protocols to ensure that the project meets or exceed design and performance standards.
  • Provide expert oversight on construction methodologies, EHS protocols, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and project closeout to ensure a seamless handover to the client and operational teams.

Internal Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage, mentor, and lead internal project teams, typically comprising Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and QS professionals.
  • Assign and oversee workloads, deliverables, and performance expectations to ensure team efficiency and accountability.
  • Promote a collaborative, high-morale, and accountable team environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of site-based project experience in ground-up construction.
  • Experience in managing large-scale commercial and advanced technology projects (large-scale data center project) preferred.
  • Proven leadership in managing complex stakeholder relationships, including clients, designers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on project environment, balancing leadership responsibilities with detailed coordination and project execution tasks
  • Experience in Owner’s Representative / consulting or General Contractor (GC) environments, with strong project delivery and coordination experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods (design, construction, risk management, cost control, and procurement), materials, and industry best practices.
  • Cost estimating and management skills are an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Korean construction regulations, safety standards, and permitting processes.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English (verbal and written).
  • Proficient in construction management tools such as MS Office, Bluebeam, project management software (Procore or similar), cost management tools, scheduling software (Primavera or similar), and BIM software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an existing project team and manage related scopes independently.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a focus on resolving complex project challenges.
